ATYPICOOL / TUBEQUEST
Terms of Service
Effective date:
These Terms govern the Atypicool website, TubeQuest mobile apps, browser child experience, parent portal, and APIs (the “Service”). Alejandro Galindo operates Atypicool and TubeQuest as an individual developer (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Atypicool is the brand behind TubeQuest.
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your family’s information and how to make privacy requests.
1. Parent accounts and children
A parent account must be created by an adult parent or legal guardian who can enter into these Terms. Create and manage child profiles only for children for whom you have that authority. Children use profiles managed by their parent or guardian; they do not create independent parent accounts.
Provide an email address you control, keep your password and API keys private, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for the settings you choose and for supervising your child’s use. Use a nickname for a child where possible and avoid entering unnecessary personal information.
You must meet applicable age and parental-permission requirements for the services your family uses, including YouTube’s requirements. A TubeQuest profile does not override them. Agreeing to these Terms does not replace any separate privacy notice or parental consent required by law.
2. Learning features and parental controls
TubeQuest combines video discovery with learning questions. Parents can set a grade, adjust learning-break frequency, manage question banks, and configure available video restrictions. In the current beta, a scheduled learning break requires a correct answer before the selected video can play. Filters use YouTube’s available filtering together with TubeQuest settings and parent-selected blocks. Filters and community blocking suggestions cannot guarantee that every video, advertisement, or recommendation will be suitable for your child. Review content and settings regularly.
Questions, progress reports, and suggested changes are supplemental practice tools. They do not guarantee learning outcomes, diagnose a condition, or replace a teacher, clinician, formal assessment, or your child’s IEP and educational services.
Optional AI reports and IEP-based question proposals may contain mistakes or unsuitable suggestions. Review generated material before using it. Suggested question-bank changes are applied when you choose to adopt or approve them. Review the displayed effect before clearing a program, changing a grade, or resetting questions.
3. YouTube and other providers
TubeQuest uses YouTube API Services. By using TubeQuest, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
Videos are supplied through YouTube’s embedded player. YouTube and video owners control their content, availability, playback restrictions, and advertising. TubeQuest does not own those videos, grant rights to download or redistribute them, or promise an advertisement-free experience. YouTube and its marks belong to their respective owners. TubeQuest is independently operated and is not endorsed or sponsored by YouTube or Google.
Google’s handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy’s YouTube section explains the integration. Our Privacy Policy also describes hosting, optional AI providers, generated reading audio, and device speech-recognition services. These providers’ availability and practices can affect the features you use.
4. Your submissions and content rights
You retain any rights you hold in questions, messages, documents, and other material you submit. Submit only material you are authorized to share and process through the Service. Do not include another family’s private information or material that infringes someone else’s rights.
You give us permission to store, copy, display, and process your submissions only as needed to operate the features you use, respond to support requests, and maintain and protect the Service, in accordance with the Privacy Policy. This includes processing by the providers described there when you request those features. This permission does not transfer ownership of your submissions to us.
When using optional IEP processing, review the extracted text and remove unnecessary identifying or sensitive information before confirming AI generation. Generated audio and AI output may have limitations described in the Privacy Policy; do not assume an output is unique or free of errors.
You may use TubeQuest and its supplied practice materials for your family’s personal learning through the Service. TubeQuest’s software, branding, and supplied materials remain the property of their respective owners. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their applicable licenses.
5. Acceptable use and API access
Use the Service lawfully and respect other people’s privacy and rights. You must not:
- Access another family’s account or data without authorization, impersonate someone, or share credentials publicly.
- Submit abusive or unlawful material, distribute malware, or deliberately disrupt the Service.
- Bypass authentication, parental restrictions, security controls, or request limits.
- Use the integration to copy or redistribute YouTube videos without authorization, evade YouTube restrictions, or interfere with its player or required notices.
The parent API is for authorized access to your own family’s information and learning settings. Requests are subject to the limits configured for your account. You are responsible for tools you authorize with an API key, including changes those tools make. Revoke a key when access is no longer needed. Do not use multiple accounts or keys to evade limits.
6. Beta access and availability
TubeQuest is in beta. Features may change, contain errors, or be unavailable during maintenance or provider outages. YouTube quotas can temporarily prevent searches, and AI or audio services may be unavailable. We do not promise uninterrupted service, continued availability of a particular video or feature, or error-free learning material. Keep independent copies of important educational documents.
Feature access may depend on your account level. If paid offerings are introduced, their prices, billing arrangements, and cancellation terms will be disclosed before purchase. These Terms alone do not authorize a charge or create a paid subscription.
7. Privacy and ending use
Our Privacy Policy describes account and activity data, provider processing, retention, and parent choices. You can stop using TubeQuest at any time. To stop new child activity immediately, stop using the child’s profile and sign out of devices where it is open.
For access, correction, or deletion requests, email support@atypicool.com from the parent account’s email address. Tell us whether the request concerns one child or the whole account; do not send your password or an IEP. We verify account authority before releasing or deleting information.
Account deletion is handled by the team during the beta. Uninstalling the app, signing out, removing questions, or resetting a program does not delete the account’s stored history. Backup retention and any information that must be kept for security or legal reasons are addressed in the Privacy Policy and our response to your request. Deleting TubeQuest data does not delete information held independently by Google or other providers.
8. Suspension and termination
We may restrict or end access when reasonably necessary to address a violation of these Terms, protect users or the Service, or comply with legal or provider requirements. We may also discontinue the beta or a feature. We will give reasonable notice when practical, except where urgent action or legal restrictions prevent it.
If you believe access was restricted by mistake, contact support. Ending access does not remove your ability to make a privacy request or any rights you have under applicable law.
9. Changes and your rights
We will publish updates to these Terms on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate notice, and we will obtain agreement where required. Changes will not apply retroactively to disputes that arose before the change.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights, warranties, remedies, or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Please contact us about concerns so we can try to resolve them; doing so does not prevent you from using other available remedies.
